"Oh come on! Everyone should know this."

Written by Tom KraMer

God tells us in Romans 12:2:

"...do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may approve what the will of God is, that which is good and pleasing and perfect." LSB

As Christians, most of know that verse, and we are diligent to not conform our morals, ethics, beliefs, and worldview to that which the rest of the non-Christian world does. But I have been amazed lately at how many Christians DON'T do that with their health!

I recently had a Christian friend tell me, "I had to postpone our meeting because I was sick and run down with virus, but I got some antibiotics and now I'm feeling better." Oh come on!

Another recently said, "I just got my flu vaccine so now I'm ok to go out and do those things." Oh come on!

Another said recently, "I'm eating better now because I'm going out to eat and getting a lot of salmon salads." Oh come on!

Christians should not be duped into believing what the world tells us about our health. Instead, with our minds being transformed out of and away from what the world thinks, we should embrace what God tells us about health, and treat our bodies the way God designed them to be treated. When we "approve what the will of God is", we are agreeing with God about His design, and in doing so, we are doing what is "good and pleasing and perfect" in His eyes.

In God's perfect will, he designed our bodies to be maintained in certain ways. The bible is full of clues about how we can handle the health of our bodies according to His design. We just have to pay attention to those clues, and let the Holy Spirit lead our minds and intentions as we build an intention to be aligned with God's best ways.

So what does the bible tell us about health?

Some of this just seems like common sense. But so many of us have been trained our whole lives to live and eat in certain ways, that we are just blinded by the world's (the enemy's) ways. And we shouldn't be. Christians are not supposed to be blinded by the enemy, the bible tells us that unbelievers are. But the bible also tells us that we can "quench" the Spirit inside of us, and this grieves Him.

The Spirit in you should be telling you when eating habits or so-called health practices are wrong. If you feel He isn't, it because you are not listening, not because He won't open your eyes to destructive ways. He will.

Let's just start with the three statements from my Christian friends mentioned above.

  1. Antibiotics: Please catch up with modern health here. This is not just holistic and natural people warning us about antibiotics anymore. Even your normal doctors who are trained by indoctrination into the Industrial Medical Complex's ways, are all now acknowledging the dangers of antibiotics. Cmon! It wipes out all the good microbiome in your gut, along with the bad. Have you heard a lot about microbiome health lately? (Gut health). It has been a hot topic in the typical medical news for 10 years, and a hot topic in natural health for centuries. It is a hot topic now because a huge part of the population has bad gut health, and of course you guessed it, the bad gut health epidemic synchronizes with the rise of antibiotics. Hmmm...

There are so many ways to fight viruses without antibiotics, it just takes someone who knows more than the world's medical system is trained to know. So much more could be said about this, a book could be written. And it has, check out Rachael's book here:

  2. Vaccines: If you only listen to the mainstream media and regular doctors, you have been a victim of a very strong, malicious deception. It is SO heavily documented that there are so many health dangers to vaccines that it is impossible to even tell you where to start looking. Of course, this information overload breeds inaction, which leads to quitting to try, and that plays right into the hands of the enemy and those that don't want you to advocate for your own health. Think about the bible for a minute.... is there anywhere in scripture that would lead you to believe that God designed your body to only function in a healthy way when we inject something synthetic or foreign past our infection barriers and into our bodies? Foreign things are NOT supposed to be inside our bodies, that is how they are designed. There are so many better ways to care for our health during sickness instead of thinking we have to inject a silver bullet into our bodies. The increasing use of vaccines over the years has lulled people into "silver bullet thinking", which is anti-scriptural and not the way God intends us to think or to treat our bodies. And of course, the only ones who can get you these silver bullets are typical doctors operating within the Industrial Medical Complex. Hmmmm.....

  3. Restaurant Food: It should be obvious that God did not design our bodies to consume chemicals, but rather, raw natural foods that are chemical free. I won't even mention processed foods here, because I think that is pretty obvious. But restaurant foods typically come from large food distributors and are often full of chemical preservatives, and the crops they come from have been sprayed with chemicals, the animals have been fed chemicals and have been injected with chemicals, and then the meat is covered with chemical preservatives. The sauces have sugars, gums, chemicals, and unhealthy oils. It's all prepared with oils, and chemical cleaners are used on the equipment. The toxic buildup of all this can be staggering on the body. A large part of the population gained weight during the covid pandemic because so many people were ordering restaurant food to be delivered. We actually lost weight becuase we quit going out to eat, and didn't order food delivery, but cooked more at home and shopped at farmer's markets.

Get up to speed with true health.

These things seemed so obvious to me, but when my Christian friends made these statements it just showed me how much of the Christian population is still letting the world tell them what is right about health. Remember, the enemy is a counterfeiter, but God's ways are "good and pleasing and perfect". He knows how to keep you in good health.

Here are some practical ways to incorporate true health into your daily life:

  • When it comes to food intake, medicine, or other health decisions, ask yourself first, "How did God design our bodies to work in this area?" Remember, he designed us to be gardeners in a natural setting that provides everything we need for food and health.

  • We live in a toxic world, and it can be hard to do everything naturally. God gave us instructions for these situations: "their fruit will be for food (plants), and their leaves for healing" Ezekiel 47:12

  • Trust the Holy Spirit in your gut. So many people have told me that they knew in their gut that they shouldn't have gotten the experimental covid jab, but they felt so much pressure from society (there's a clue right there!) that they did it anyway, and now they regret it as they suffer from so many serious health consequences.

Nourishing the Body with God’s Provision

Our bodies are temples, and caring for them is a sacred responsibility. Eating in a way that honors God’s provision means choosing foods that are as close to their natural state as possible. This approach not only supports physical health but also deepens our gratitude for the abundance around us.

Whole foods like fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds, and whole grains provide essential nutrients that fuel our bodies. Avoiding processed foods and excessive sugars helps maintain balanced energy and supports healthy digestion. Preparing meals like this can transform eating into a spiritual practice, reminding us of God’s goodness in every bite.

To get started, try these simple steps:

  1. Plan meals around fresh, seasonal produce.

  2. Eliminate packaged and processed foods.

  3. Drink herbal teas or water infused with lemon or cucumber.

  4. Share meals with loved ones to nurture connection and joy.

Cultivating a Lifestyle of Wholeness and Vitality

Living with an intention to know and follow God's methods for health, and embracing natural health benefits is a journey, not a destination. It requires patience, kindness toward ourselves, and a willingness to listen deeply to what our bodies and spirits need. As we cultivate this lifestyle, we begin to experience a renewed sense of wholeness and vitality.

Here are some good reminders to keep in mind:

  • Be patient with yourself as you make changes.

  • Celebrate small victories and progress.

  • Surround yourself with supportive community.

  • Keep your focus on God’s promises for health and life.

By choosing this path, we open ourselves to the fullness of life that God desires for us - a life marked by strength, peace, and joy.

Walking Forward with Hope and Healing

As we continue on this journey, let us hold onto the hope that natural health benefits bring. They are not just about avoiding illness but about thriving in every area of life. With Christ as our foundation and the Spirit's wisdom as our guide, we can reclaim the vibrant health that God designed us to have.

I invite you to take the next step today - whether it’s trying a new nourishing recipe, taking a mindful walk, or simply pausing to breathe deeply. Each small action is a powerful declaration of your commitment to holistic well-being.

Together, let’s embrace the power of natural health practices and walk forward in the vitality God has planned for us.
