See the Good in it, See God in it.

The other day during my prayer time, a thought settled deeply in my spirit…
When God created the world, after each part of creation He said, “It is good.” And after creating man, He said, “It is very good.”
“Good” can sound like such a simple, almost casual word—something we might say without much thought. But when we look deeper, it carries profound meaning. What God calls “good” is not ordinary—it is something created by Him, exactly as He intended it to be.
When we add -ness, we get goodness—the fullness of that divine intention. As Scripture says, “I will cause all My goodness to pass before you.” That goodness is not distant or abstract—it is alive within every believer.
God is good. He is goodness. And Christ lives in us. That means His goodness lives in us too.
A few years ago, while praying through the fruits of the Spirit—love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control—I paused on goodness. It felt vague at first, almost too simple compared to the others. But as I sat with it, I began to understand its depth.

Goodness is not just being “nice” or doing the right thing—it is being aligned with God’s original design. It is His nature expressed through us. So when I pray to be filled with goodness, I am really asking God to fill me with His Spirit, His power, and to restore me to the way He created me to be.
Imagine a world without sin, toxins, pollution, anger—everything as God intended it. One day, we will experience that fully. But even now, we are invited to live from His goodness within us.
So the next time you hear someone say, “See the good in it,” let it be a gentle reminder:
See God in it.
"Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good." Romans 12:21
